Of course Obama wants to grow the government! He's a democrat -- that's what they do: more welfare programs and government-sponsored free for alls. Current administration not included, Republicans generally say "little government." And of course McCain would express his profound and deep abiding respect for the military -- he's an ex-military Republican -- its what they do! What I gathered from this whole process is that each team is pretty much sticking to the status quo. You can't hate a candidate because he is doing exactly what his party is known for -- and you can't know a candidate by what he says during a debate. Obama used many more words to answer the question, never really giving any answer in the end, and if McCain just said, "Yes," I think that would have gone far because, to me, it would have essentially said that despite all of Obama's flowery rhetoric, he still cannot answer a simple question.
